Deans’ Message

The Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU), Karnal, is 1st Sate Horticultural University in Haryana. The prime aim of this newly established University in the State is to fulfill the mandates of teaching, research and extension. There is one constituent college namely College of Horticulture at Anjanthali, Kamal to impart quality education to the students of B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture (4 year) Programme, M.sc and Ph.D. in Fruit Science, Vegetable Science and Floriculture and Landscaping.  At present, 176 students of B.Sc. (Hons) Hort-4-year Programme are pursuing study in College of Horticulture, Anjanthali, Kamal. Apart from undergraduate Programme in Horticulture, Master’s and Ph.D. students are enrolled in different disciplines (Fruit Science, Vegetable Science and Floriculture and Landscaping).

The Dean of College of Horticulture and Dean, Post-graduate Studies have been entrusted with the responsibility of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the College of Horticulture in coordination with the Director of Research and Director of Extension Education. At MHU, we strive to create a welcoming and congenial working atmosphere in which teachers do their best with maximum potential in terms of professional and intellectual development. Our main mission is to make knowledge progression more efficient, active and employment friendly. Our goal is to usher in a paradigm shift in new technologies and innovations for optimal development in horticulture crops. All the under graduate students are registered on academic bank of credit portal. The college has smart classroom equipped with audio-visual aids, state of the art laboratories, AR & VR lab, etc. The students are provided quality education and hands on training on various aspects of cultivation, production, protection, post-harvest management, etc. in the field of horticulture.
