Commercial Beekeeping Training concluded, Farmers Day and Mushroom Day organized
A training on commercial bee-keeping for 35 farmers in Haryana concluded at the Regional Centre of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Murthal.

The Chief Guest, Dr. S K Malhotra, Project Director, ICAR-DKMA and Former Agriculture Commissioner and Horticulture Commissioner of India, distributed certificates to participants. He emphasised the importance of solidarity with hardworking farmers, whose sacrifices and efforts ensure food and nutritional needs.

The Chief Guest said that the government is creating a conducive environment for farmers through policy interventions and incentives, emphasizing the need for sensitivity to their needs to optimize productivity, build resilience, and achieve competitiveness through efficient resource and technology use, thereby enhancing their role in the agricultural sector.

In the side events, Mushroom Day was also celebrated today, where farmers were imparted knowledge on the latest updates on mushroom cultivation and different ranges of mushroom products were prepared and exhibited in the stall.

Dr. Ajay Singh, Registrar, MHU-cum-Regional Director, RMRC, Murthal gave the welcome remarks and emphasised the significance of Farmer’s Day, Mushroom Day and also explained the training component on commercial beekeeping. He explained about the remarkable contributions of ICAR-AICRP Mushroom Centre at Murthal, functioning under MPHU.
